Opera by Sueli Costa and Opera Swimwear, are designed by Brazilian trend setters, Sueli Costa and Gabriela Pires.
The lines can be described as a combination of beauty, and sensuality with a touch of elegance and sophistication. Opera Swimwear and Opera by Sueli Costa are rich in details, such as hand embroidery, beading, hand knitting, and hand painting, resulting to the attention from well-recognized magazines such as Sports Illustrated, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Lucky and Maxim, just to name a few.
In 2005 Sueli Costa was among other worldwide top designers, chosen to create a special swimsuit for the Swarovski annual catalog. This unique piece is now part of the Swarovski museum in Austria.
The brands stay on the minds and tanned bodies of international women, top models, and fashion editors and photgraphers, from all over the world.
The designers collaborate with Brazilian nonprofit organizations, by employing seamstresses, and artisans from low-income communities to sew, embroider, knit and to do all the craftsmanship work for their lines. They also prefer to work with eco-friendly suppliers whenever possible.
Sueli Costa, whom already has over two decades of experience in the fashion industry, has been designing her collections with daughter and business partner Gabriela Pires, who has been following her mother footsteps since 2004, after returning from Milan where she attended Marangoni, one of the most prestigious fashion schools in Europe. Gabriela is scheduled to release her Juniors/Missy line, this July during the Miami Swim show . The GabiKini 2010 collection is very girly, and rich in vibrant colors, prints, and beautiful desings.
